Tragedy and Comedy
Sometimes, after things have been crazy for so long, you just have to laugh at the ridiculousness (is that a word?) of it all.
I was cracking up this morning at Randy’s describing his lawn mowing adventure yesterday. He had just started mowing when one of the back wheels FELL OFF the mower. So what did he do? What any good redneck would: he wired it to the body and handle with baling wire!
Since he didn’t want this chore facing him over the long weekend, he “sledded” the lawn mower over the entire yard. :clap2: Git ‘er done!! The only thing missing from this scenario was a can of beer in one hand. Not that he could have done that, how would he push the mower? I only wish I could’ve been here at the time to see it. I was still at work. Of course, it wasn’t very funny to him at the time, especially since he’d been at the hospital with his mom earlier.
Life just keeps throwing us stuff and we keep dealing with it. Some things you can’t change no matter how hard you try. We still have a whole lot to be thankful for, in spite of life’s little surprises.
This morning I went from crying to laughing in the span of about 15 minutes. What a roller coaster ride it’s been this year.
Today I guess I’ll find out whether I get a 4-day weekend or not. If not, I’ll have to work on Monday and be off on Tuesday. That doesn’t sound like fun to me. Crossing my fingers for a reprieve.
Sing it with me now: (to the tune of “Lucille” by Kenny Rogers)
“You picked a fine time to leave me Loose Wheel….”

Life amazes me how it can throw you so many snot rockets without even a hankie to clean up the mess but we all seem to muddle through the mess and find our own way out and even can laugh at ourselves. When it comes to the point that you can’t laugh then something is seriously wrong.
I’m sitting here listening to the Bob Lind CD that I picked up after listening to his interview on Java John’s radio show. He’s been through alot but has pulled up his boot straps and is still singing his way through life.
Blessings to you and yours and have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs, Zissy
