Drug Paraphernalia

It started so innocently, years ago. After dinner with friends one evening. Was it peer pressure? Or was I just trying to be cool? Everyone was doing it…I had to do it too.

“I’d like a cappuccino, please,” I asked the server with confidence, as though I’d done it all my life. A frothy, aromatic substance was soon set in front of me. Whipped cream on top of milk and espresso. Ahhh, bliss! :meditate: My life hasn’t been the same since.

Recently, I’ve even passed my addiction on to Randy, not unlike Eve with the infamous apple. Never mind that he was already well into caffeine consumption with his “Schooners” of Diet Coke. This was different.

Cappuccino...He had been making cappuccinos for us on Sunday mornings, but that was the extent of his java drinking. That is, until I got a Senseo pod system for my birthday last year. Uh-oh. Now it’s just too convenient. Now the caffeine calls out to him every morning like a siren’s song. I’m no siren, but it’s all my fault.

I really knew he had reached the point of no return when he came home from Rescue the Animals Garage Sale with TWO different coffee devices that were like brand new. He was SO proud! We had just about worn out our second cappuccino maker, so one of his acquisitions was a Krups to replace it. The other was a Hamilton Beach system that allows you to dispense coffee by the cup, while keeping the remainder hot. The ultimate in coffee bongs.

Where will it end? Will we start selling it from a shop? Grind beans on the street corner? Tell off Bill at the convenience store when he doesn’t have any freshly made on Saturday mornings? Oh wait…that one’s already happened. :shifty:

  1. Shock! Horror!! You just opened my eyes to my addictions… one of them being coffee, no wait, it’s COFFEE! And let’s get this right: caffeine as such won’t do (no cheap coke substituting my beloved brew!!).

LOL. Without coffee I wouldn’t survive the day. Honest. I tried…
