Mornings at the Jones house

Roll out of bed at around 5:30.

Take our water glasses into the kitchen so Willow doesn’t knock them over or drink out of them.

Move Willow’s water and food bowl into the kitchen.

Let Gracie out of Randy’s bathroom.

Move Gracie’s box, food and water back into the office.

Move Willow’s box into the kitchen.

Scoop both boxes if we feel we must.

Sweep and/or vacuum up cat litter.

Put fresh food and water into both cats bowls.

Let Wylie out for a double-t.

Give Wylie some fresh water.

Clean up water that he sloshed onto the kitchen floor.

Give Wylie his Benadryl cheese balls (Bennies) and Pupcorn.

Give Willow a tiny piece of cheese and a Pupcorn tail.

Pick up what she doesn’t eat.

Read devotional aloud while Randy makes lunches and gives Willow and Wylie pieces of lunchmeat.

Go out and pick up newspaper. Try not to get stung by fire ants again.

Heat milk for Kathy’s coffee. Put pods in Senseo (I get a double shot). Run Senseo. Dispose of pods. Heat milk in Randy’s cup. Put pod in Senseo. Brew Randy’s cup.

Sit down and read paper. Try to solve the day’s Jumble. Hold and pet Gracie. Let her onto the table to rub on Daddy’s beard. Pet the Buddha belly. Pull loose hair out of mouth and off of face because she is shedding. Get brush out and brush an entire cat’s worth of hair out.

Open laptop and check email.

Sweat from drinking coffee. Decide it’s shower time.

Let Wylie drink out of the shower spray in Randy’s bathroom. Take showers in separate bathrooms simultaneously.

Play “football” with Wylie by threatening to take it away from him while he flirts and growls. Get dressed and (Kathy: put on makeup) blow dry hair. Sweat and wish that you could take another shower.

Make sure Gracie is in the back of the house before separating her from Willow with the tri-fold wooden screen.

Eat Nutri-Grain bar, take meds and vitamins.

Hold onto each other and say a prayer.

Move cars around depending on which car Randy feels like taking.

Barely make it to work by 8:00.
