The rain, a book and other things

Doing my morning shuffle after rolling out of bed, I heard Randy from the other end of the house call out in typical redneck fashion, “it’s raining like hell!” Somehow, I don’t think it rains in hell but occasionally we do get lucky here. Sleepy-eyed and barefoot, I padded into the kitchen and heard a beautiful sound: large drops coming down in rapid succession on the metal patio cover. We stepped out onto the patio and allowed our senses to take it all in. I voiced my thanks to God. I could smell the few honeysuckle blooms that were left (or maybe they were making a comeback). I looked through the downpour at misty street lights in the distance with wonder. This week may be our last to see such precipitation for the next three months. I hope I’m wrong.

What a great day it would be to settle in with the book that just arrived on my doorstep yesterday. My good friend in Gozo, Sabine Cassar-Alpert, just published her first novel entitled Angelina’s Ghost…and it’s a real page-turner! I just started it last night and I’m already on Chapter 7. :jump: Can’t wait to see what happens next. It’s definitely a fun read so far! You can find out how to acquire your very own copy right here.

E. J.What a um, pleasant surprise on yesterday’s soap, Days of our Lives. (Guilty Pleasure!) A new (well, new to me…maybe not to you long-time fans) character, E. J. Oh. My. Gosh. Talk about British Beefcake! Hey, I’m married…not dead! See for yourself, ladies. Can’t wait to see what happens next. More rain, more good reading, more shenanigans. Life is good.

Oops… I’m speechless… no, really. I stayed away from the internet for a whole day and just wanted to quickly catch up with what I’ve missed, and find these compliments about my book… :jump: Thanks Kathy! I’m glad you like it!
