I feel good today. Really good. I know that’s an odd thing to say, but I’ve had so many days recently where I was down and out. Today is a pleasant surprise.

I love being off work and spending time with my husband, my friends, my cats and my dog. I enjoy getting away when time and money allow, but this will do nicely. These times will be few and far between in the upcoming weeks. I consider them precious.

Right: A “wall cloud” lurks overhead

Yesterday’s clouds brought rain and cool winds. (No hail or tornados, thankfully!) That tends to put everyone in a good mood. I think everyone who lives here is in denial about the summer heat to come and we rejoice while we can. I’ve said it a million times, but it’s the little things. Seemingly minor details that make the world go round.

Sometimes I’m so busy reaching for the stars that I forget about here and now–what’s already in my grasp. Just being able to stop and breathe in the air for awhile is meaningful. Touch, taste, sound and sight. I’m in my zone. Even if it means reminding myself by typing something in this space.

I know, I know. I’m rambling again. That’s how it goes sometimes. My stream of consciousness, out here for whomever chooses to read it while their eyes glaze over. Those “Deep Thoughts” on my blog could’ve actually been written by moi. Scary.
