The Jones abode will be housing an overseas guest for a week in March, and I’m really looking forward to it! OK, except for the pre-visitor cleaning…
Our friend Mick from Ireland will be taking a jumbo ‘cross the water to stay with us. In fact, his last day here is St. Patrick’s Day. How conveeeeenient. :jump:
We met Mick in San Diego, CA in 2002 at a Roger Hodgson concert. That trip was much too short and we didn’t really have a chance to relax and get to know each other. In fact, it was a bit like being caught up in a whirlwind.
My only concern is that he’s going to be BORED while he’s with us. Abilene isn’t exactly a tourist attraction. We do plan on taking a day trip to Fredericksburg so he can see the Hill Country, proving that not all of Texas is this ugly!
Any other ideas on what we could do to entertain our Irish friend?

What can I say… I’m greeen!! Don’t worry about the attractions, or lack of them. I’m sure Mick won’t be bored with you!!! Well, I know that I wouldn’t.
Hmm. I really thought Mick would get to see Malta before going to Texas. But then, he probably thought I’d come to Ireland before any place else… Oh and how I wish I’d see you too.
Oh well. One day……. Just imagine, one big “all together now” meetup!!
:bananasplit: :dancingbanana2: :dancingbanana:
I wish I was going to be there as well. Might get Mick some “Harp”..Irish beer. I hear he’s partial to it once in a while.
St Paddy’s Day eh…have one on me!
Texas is home to so many great musicians, maybe visiting Austin or famous birthplaces. Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, etc.
Yes, we thought about Austin…but we didn’t think he’d want to be travelling TOO much since he’ll be jet-lagged as it is.
Great idea though. We love Austin and haven’t been in a long time.
