I R an MT Student!

It’s official. I’m enrolled!

The no-interest-for-12-months card was in the stack of mail when I got home, with a note written on it by my dear husband. YAY for El! (El being short for Elmo…my nickname. Don’t ask.) I did a little happy dance and called to activate the card, then immediately jumped online to enroll at Career Step.

I did the Orientation unit last night and skimmed through the Keyboard Kinetics this morning. Since I’m already a fast (and fairly accurate) typist, I didn’t really need all the speed-building exercises, but I did do the main copy on each page and took three typing tests at the end, bleary-eyed with out-of-date glasses on. Before coffee. :lol: My scores were in the 80′s and 90′s WPM, so I figure I did ok. On one exercise I typed over 100 WPM. Woot!

The next unit in the course is called “Medical Word Building.” *gulp* :eyes: This will be a major challenge, but I’m actually looking forward to learning a new “language.”

Yeah, I’m still scared to death…what have I gotten myself into this time? BUT…I am excited at the prospect of actually bettering myself. Who knows, I might actually have a feeling of accomplishment before all is said and done.

What a concept!

    What have you gotten yourself into? Me thinks a foothold on the rock face where you will eventually climb to the summit into the sunshine and a whole new outlook on life and career. Listen to ‘Alan Parsons Project’s “Standing On Higher Ground”…nuff said :yes:
