Oktoberfest 2007

okt_hat.jpgYep, it’s that time again. We’re headed to Fredericksburg tomorrow morning (our good buddy Jeff in tow, as usual) for our annual celebration of Fall. This has always been a kind of wedding anniversary trip for us each year.

This will probably be the last hoorah for us for quite some time. We’re going to have to tighten our belts, so-to-speak, in preparation of my transition into a new career.

I’m looking forward to a fun day tomorrow, and seeing my friends Oma and the Oompahs. Pearlie Sowell is an inspiration and an true spirit! If you go back in the archives, you’ll find my previous posts about her. I love Fredericksburg and the people who live their who graciously share their beautiful little town with us annoying tourists.

Lunch at the Marktplatz, music, das bier, singing, laughter, dancing, watching smiles on people’s faces, kids and their parents bonding with each other, flowers, butterflies, watching the years turn back on elders’ faces…so much to take in, savor, and enjoy. Oh yeah, and walking down to Mamacita’s for dinner (Tex-Mex…LOL!) before walking across the street to the motel and retiring EARLY, full and happy.

I’m so glad I can experience this again. Here’s to safe travels and gemutlichheit!
