It’s 2:45 in the morning. My old nemesis, insomnia, has returned for a visit. What else can I do but try to blog and clear my mind?
Yesterday, my boss called me into his office. He told me he couldn’t find a replacement for me, even with a month’s notice. He said if I would work half days (4 hours per day) for the rest of the year, he would pay me 60% of my current salary, plus all of my sick leave and vacation time at 100% salary, plus a Christmas bonus. I hate letting money make decisions for me, but I can’t change the fact that I need to keep a roof over my head and bills paid. I told him I would sleep on it. (Ha!)
I’m going to work 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and work on the MT course in the afternoons. It’s not what I had originally planned to do, but isn’t that how life usually goes? I make no guarantees to my boss that this will last. If things get too stressful, I’m outta there. I can’t believe no one in a city of over 120,000 people knows how to use dBaseIV. Am I that obsolete already?
OK, time to check some email and then I will make an attempt to go back to bed and catch some z’s before I’m back at it all over again. I’m tired…

I just left you a message, and now it’s gone
I’ll try again…
Maybe it’s working out for the good of your boss AND you this way. Somehow I had a feeling this might happen, funny, eh?
You’ll be ok Kathy!!
