Me and Glen Campbell, that is.
On Friday, Randy brought home the new (yes, new) Glen Campbell promo cd (it will be coming out on vinyl as well), entitled “Meet Glen Campbell.” Glen still has it going on! He does cover songs from U2, the Foo Fighters, and more. Way cool, believe me. His voice still sounds surprisingly good!
When I was just a wee tot, I believed I would marry Glen Campbell when I grew up. My Dad had the album, “Hey, Little One,” and I used to love looking at the cover while listening. I thought Glen was singing to ME! After all, I WAS little. (I was also in love with The Lettermen back then, but that’s another story/album. LOL) Anyway, I asked Randy Friday night if we had “Hey, Little One.” He can’t ever find his keys but he produced this album quicker than you could say “Elusive Butterfly.” I was impressed. We had a listen to this oldie but goodie after sampling the new Glen CD. Wow. Flashback time again.

Ah, those were the days when I thought my Prince Charming(s) all came in a 12-inch cardboard, colored sleeve and sang to me out of some mysterious looking boxes. *swoon*

Hey, Kathy
I’m sorry I have not been on line much in this summer. Now, the kids have started back to school and we are painting our livingroom and diningroom.. I’m glad we are, but it’s been a lot of work. I love Glen Campbell.. I saw him at the Astrodome, when I was a teenager in the late 70″s , early 80′s at the Houston Livestock show and rodeo.. He sang Rhinestone Cowboy.. I was thrilled.. of course, I never did get his autograph. there were too many thousands of people there.. He has a wonderful voice,and I could listen to him anytime.. I’ll be on the lookout for that CD. Thanks for the head up on it.. I hope you have been having a nice summer..
