Another Week

It’s hard to believe this week is almost over already. It’s been another mixed bag.

I went for my annual mammogram on Monday after work. I have fibrocystic breast disease, with a cluster of cysts in the left breast, so the side view is particularly painful for me. Thankfully, it’s quick…unlike cancer. I remember Susan telling me after she was diagnosed that she had put off going to the doctor when she started having problems. Ladies, do yourself a favor and get checked EVERY year beginning at age 40, earlier if you have any risk factors. You have the power.

Summer has arrived early this year. We’re expecting 90+ temps today. I’m in my office with a ceiling fan on high and a smaller fan sitting on the floor, in addition to the AC which we leave on about 78 because electricity is outrageous. We had some severe storms last night, but they carried much-needed rain. I guess I could’ve been blown away by a tornado and not even known about it overnight because I was out like a light.

I was taken off 100% proofing yesterday…finally! I still will be randomly checked for quality assurance, and accuracy reports will be given to me monthly. I still have to submit any note with a blank or question to Proofing, along with any letters that are dictated. Wouldn’t you know, right after my AM called me to give me the good news, I had the crappiest reports after that. I had blanks in every single report. One neurology note was over 20 minutes! Maybe, just maybe I’ll get to submit something directly to the client today. Gulp.

I still can’t believe Susan is really gone. Her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held. Hilda is supposed to call me with the details. I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to deal with death. I won’t lie…it scares me. Even with faith.

Love each other and have a good weekend.
