Does anyone read my blog anymore? Just wondering…

I am being the Bad Daughter/Bad Sister again this year by letting everyone know they shouldn’t worry with gift exchange this Christmas. I think I probably annoyed everyone in my family last year with that decision, but I stand by it. Am I selfish? Yes. Am I the black sheep? Always have been! I’m not about to ruin my reputation at the ripe old age of 45 (*cough* almost 46)!

Seriously, I get tired of seeing people’s heads spin around like Linda Blair in the Exorcist as the multiple psychoses take over just because it’s “The Holiday Season.” Everyone goes mad this time of year and totally miss the true meaning. I just want to run away as fast as I can and find a place where I can hide until it’s over. This year has been incredibly bad for just about everyone.

Oh yeah, I’m a pessimist, too. I left that statement out. I still think that peace is out there somewhere underneath it all. We just need to focus on what’s important, if that’s possible in this messed up world we’ve created.
