Mentorship

I finished the urology clinic notes and letter that was given to me to transcribe over the weekend. Today, I am going back over to Carole’s house to return the transcriber, tape, and patient resources. She will go over my transcription with me. I am hoping I did a good job, and that she will be pleased with my work. In any case, I am getting mentored by someone who has been in the medical transcription biz for 15 years, and has done reports for many doctors in this area. I also now have the opportunity to do any overflow work she has, even after I start working full time for Amphion. Hopefully, she will give me some electronic files to transcribe this week. I really could use the income, however small.

By the way, the urologist who dictated these notes is awesome! He speaks clearly in a quiet environment, and I sense in his voice that he is generally a nice person. I actually looked him up in the phone book this morning to see if I could find a photo of him, and there he was! He looked as kind as I thought he might. It’s really nice to transcribe for local docs, so you have an idea who you’re working for.

Overall, this was a great experience. I hope I can continue keeping my foot in the door locally. Options are a good thing.

I hope you all have a great week! :group-hug:
