Time To Produce

After asking my Account Manager this week about being moved to production from hourly status, I found out I was put on production last week because I had exceeded my hourly pay.  Woot!  This means I am now paid by the line.  The only drawback is the mandatory overtime that is called for on some days, which only applies to those on production.  Yep, I had to work an hour extra yesterday.

I was also assigned a secondary account to learn on Monday (due to lack of work on my primary) with a totally different set of instructions and formatting.  This slowed me down considerably, but they do allow for that by giving you paid downtime to compensate.  I’m hoping to get my line counts back up to where they were before.

The nice thing about OT is that not only are you paid time and a half, but you’re also able to get more lines in, so it’s not totally a bad thing.  In this economy, it’s actually a blessing.  I’m really happy with this company and how they treat their employees.  I have no regrets about leaving my 25-year “career” behind so I can be at home with my fur babies in my own little space, surrounded by things I love.  My new employer has been more than fair and they value their employees.  I hope to be able to provide for our family for a long time to come.
