And so it goes…

Dr. R’s office called yesterday afternoon to let me know I need to come in and have my labs drawn again.  I called and was told “it’s been too long.”  Huh?  I had just come in the morning before and had it done!  When I told them that, the nurse hem-hawed around and told me she didn’t know what happened.  What I figure is they forgot to take the vials to the lab at the hospital, which is literally ONE BLOCK from the office!  Unbelievable.  Now I have to go back at 6:45 a.m. on Monday and do this again.  This isn’t the first time their office has been incompetent.  One time, they had to reschedule Randy 3 times because they were out of liquid nitrogen and forgot to order it.  Last year, I had asked for my lab results to be mailed to me.  The phlebotomist made a note of it.  Did I ever get them?  No.  I had to call again and ask.

While Dr. R is an excellent physician, he needs an office manager or someone who can organize things.  I’m not very confident about the quality of their healthcare if everyone doesn’t do his or her part.  Just a thought.

Good thing I didn’t go ahead and have the CT scan ordered.
