Pieces of July
Nothing like a little weather talk, eh?
We broke a high temp yesterday at 97 F/36 C. I think we had about 3 days of what I would call perfect spring weather, then BOOM! It’s supposed to be a “cool” 90 today with that annoying wind at 30 mph or so. Lovely.
I’ve been working some longer hours lately, so not much to blog about. I’m trying to squirrel a little money away for the slow times (read small paychecks) that will be coming in the fall. I’m also trying to put some money back for our Santa Fe trip in late June. It’s right around the corner. Just so glad to have the income at this point. Believe it or not, I am now making about what I was after 24 years at my previous job. I can’t believe so much of my life was spent at that place. It wasn’t a total waste because I did acquire a lot of skills over the years, but it was a crappy place to work. I think I like my situation now much better.
I was answering some questions yesterday from a friend who is interested in the course I took. I looked at the syllabus and realized there were 21 units in all. I got tears in my eyes when I realized I had accomplished all that, even while working full time for the first 3 months of the course. I would have never believed I could do it, but I had reached that crossroads in my life and I was finally ready. I’m so grateful I made it through.
It’s gonna be a long, hot summer. I’m gonna make hay while the sun do shine.
It really is amazing how much we can achieve when we really WANT it! And yours really is a wonderful achievement – be proud!!
That’s quite an accomplishment. I agree with Sabine, you should be very proud of all you achieved. So ya broke a high temp of 97 yesterday, I see. That sounds like us in Ohio. It’s only gonna reach the 80′s this weekend. I just hope it lasts more than 3 days. Bring on the summer, baby!
Talk to ya later
