Today is the first day I’ve had work first thing at 7 a.m., when my shift starts. Usually, I end up making part of my time up by taking a 15-minute chow down so I get 45 minutes in there. My schedule is supposed to be 7-11 a.m., noon to 4 p.m. You’d be amazed how fast you can eat when you need to.
My Granny Hanson would be horrified. She used to get on to me about how fast I ate. I don’t think she ever grasped the concept of having to eat on a schedule, i.e., school, work, etc. Good thing she isn’t witnessing this. Or maybe she is…
Anyway, I have a WHOLE HOUR, so I’m sitting here with Gracie-poo on my lap (she warms up for her afternoon nap…what a user).
I ran out of work at 3:30 yesterday and my fear is that I will run out even sooner today by not grabbing those reports now. Oh well. I have to follow my schedule when work is available, so I really don’t have a choice. My line count is probably going to be anemic today anyway, as I’ve had some real doozies this morning. Whenever a person or provider’s name is dictated (even outside of the client’s health system), we have to verify spelling by researching the web. If we aren’t sure or can’t find it, we have to leave a blank and send for review. This slows things down and makes it hard to be productive. I’m having one of those days.
At least tomorrow is Friday. That’s a good thing, isn’t it?
