49th annual Destrehan Plantation Fall Festival scheduled for November 13-14 – L’Observateur

DESTREHAN – The 49 of the Destrehan plantatione The annual Fall Festival located at 13034 River Road in Destrehan, Louisiana, opens 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, November 13 and Sunday, November 14, at the plantation grounds. Admission for a full day is $ 8 per adult or teenager, $ 5 for children 6 to 12 and children 5 and under enter free.

This year’s festival has over 130 arts and crafts vendors. Craft vendors will showcase their talent and sell their handicrafts such as exotic woodwork, leather goods, scented candles, original jewelry, Louisiana-themed prints, canvas paintings, and exclusive housewares. . The Mule Barn will appeal to the antique collector with distinctive pieces from antique dealers across Louisiana.

Fans of Cajun and Creole cuisine can choose from a variety of dishes such as suckling pig po-boys, shrimp and grits, shrimp po-boys, onion mums, barbecue sandwiches, andouille nachos and alligator on a stick. You can dine in the picnic area while enjoying shows from the following groups:

Historical interpreters offer tours of the plantation house throughout the day for an additional $ 8 per person. There will also be artisans who will demonstrate the trades and household chores used in the early 1800s.

Kids’ activities include pony rides, hand waxing, interactive games, and arts and crafts activities.
