Buster’s exhibit also includes some of her costumes that she donned for her periodic appearances in the garden throughout the summer, including a cape depicting the colorful wings of a moth.
Families will be delighted to visit the more than 50 acres of impressive gardens which include over a dozen themed areas, such as the Children’s Garden, Rose Garden, Asian Valley and Cherry Blossom Promenade.
“One of the most popular features of our kindergarten is the Klaus Family Tree House which is easily accessible via a gently sloping ramp, and offers visitors an exciting bird’s-eye view of the gardens at 13 feet below, and they can even spot turtles and fish in the lake, ”Monroe said.
At the Kindergarten, the International Village features children’s replicas of shelters and houses from different countries and cultures, including a West African tukul, a Central American adobe-style casita, and a Powhatan longhouse, as well as small gardens of plants from these regions. Staff and volunteers will be available to answer visitors’ questions and provide interesting information about the natural features of the garden.
Children are also drawn to natural objects on site, such as stones, branches and twigs, which stimulate imaginative play and creativity. In addition, young visitors are always happy to lend a hand in the farm garden, watering the plants with sponges dipped in buckets of water.
